Stockton Helps BrigantineRichard Stockton Elementary (2012 National School of Character) students were busy in the week before Thanksgiving as they worked on their service efforts to help those impacted by Superstorm Sandy. On Tuesday, students, staff, and parents traveled with the donations they had collected to Brigantine, New Jersey, home of 2011 NSOC Brigantine Elementary.

Members of the two school communities met at the community center in Brigantine to unload and distribute the needed items. It was an emotional day for all. Stockton’s Principal Eloisa DeJesus-Woodruff said, “It was a very emotional day for us as we met the unbelievable CEP sister school in Brigantine, NJ to deliver gift cards, money and other items. We were honored and humbled to be able to be the ones representing CEP and our school community in leading this partnership effort.”

The very next day Stockton students partnered with students from Poestenkill Elementary in New York as they sang a song that they wrote together about the impact of Sandy on the radio. Hear the students singing and read the lyrics of their song.
