Today, I along with the Character Education Partnership’s staff and board of directors would like to formally welcome Tucker Wannamaker to our team as the new Director of Communications.
We couldn’t be more thrilled to have this passionate, capable and talented communications professional join us full-time. Many of you may already know Tucker as a founding member of Magneti, a full-service marketing firm based in Colorado and D.C. For the past few years Tucker worked with CEP on many communications initiatives as a consultant through Magneti. He not only met, but also exceeded our expectations with his work on items such as video development, events (2013 Forum and our 2014 National Schools of Character announcement at the DC Press Club) and branding elements. When our internal team decided to hire a communications director, we knew it wasn’t necessary to look any further than Tucker. When I approached him about this position, we both felt it was a good fit, and we were fortunate Tucker accepted.
When I first met Tucker and Magneti, they were coming off of a very successful campaign where Tucker was the catalyst and tactical leader for the fundraising campaign, Wild Fire Tees, which sold over $1 million worth of T-shirts in 2012/13 for wildfire relief in Colorado. I knew then, after seeing those staggering results, that we had a hard working and dedicated person on board who shares a similar motivation as I do – to achieve goals and to do it ethically. That is why Tucker will be spearheading all of our marketing, public relations and branding initiatives moving forward. There are many new exciting items he is working on that I look forward to sharing with you in the near future. We are also delighted for Tucker help to us reach our internal goal of doubling the number of Schools of Character over the next three years.
Tucker is compassionate and lives life to its fullest both professionally and personally as he is a father of four young children and husband to Julie Wannamaker for the past 10 years.
Welcome aboard Tucker! For those who want to learn more about his vision for CEP, please feel free to email him your questions, insights and thoughts to Twannamaker@character.org.
